MARIETTA, OHIO - - Freshman Katie Pritchett's hot start to her collegiate career continued at the Ohio Valley University Women's Golf Classic. The UVa-Wise golfer finished ninth and earned a place on the all-tournament team as the Cavaliers finished in a tie for third place with a team score of 715. California (Pa.) took home the team title with a score of 658, 48 strokes better than second place Alderson Broaddus.
UVa-Wise teammates Rebecca Farley and Veronica Pressley finished in a tie for 17th with a two-day total of 181. Farley shaved nine strokes off her day one score to shoot an 86 on day two while Pressley knocked three strokes off her day one total to shoot an 89 on day two en route to her score of 181.
Katie Brownschidle rounded out a quartet of Cavalier golfers to finish in the top 20. The junior shot a 182 in the event to finish in a tie for a 20th place.
Next up, UVa-Wise will compete in the Myrtle Beach Intercollegiate. The event begins on Oct. 2 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
