Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The UVa-Wise volleyball team split a pair of matches Saturday afternoon at the University of Charleston's tri-match, defeating Ohio Valley University 3-0 in a non-conference neutral-site contest and falling 3-1 to Charleston in Mountain East Conference play. The Cavaliers (2-14, 1-1 MEC) swept all three sets against the Fighting Scots (4-13) with set wins of 25-19, 25-19, 25-16, after only being able to win the second set against the host Golden Eagles (9-7, 2-0 MEC) earlier in the afternoon.

Despite trailing 15-13 in the opening set, the Cavs rallied back to win 12 of the last 16 points and take a 1-0 lead in the match. UVa-Wise won the first six points of the second set and never looked back as the Cavs marched to another 25-19 set win. Several strings of points in the third stanza gave UVa-Wise a 16-9 advantage and the Cavs continued to remain in control of the set, winning it 25-16 to complete the sweep.

Sophomore outside hitter Ciara Kain (Leesburg, Va.) led the Cavs with 12 kills, while senior outside hitter Karley Allen posted a double-double of 11 kills and 18 digs. Senior middle blocker Santana Bishop (Gate City, Va.) earned five blocks and senior defensive specialist Erin Anderson (Richmond, Va.) served up two aces as freshman setter Morgan Milligan assisted on 34 of UVa-Wise's 40 kills.

Ohio Valley was led by Alyx's 12 kills and 10 digs, while Megan Morrison earned a match-high 29 digs and Emily Ohrn made a team-high 32 assists.

Charleston led 19-14 in the first set before the Cavs won seven of the next nine points to tie up the score at 21-all. However, the Golden Eagles ended up claiming four of the final five points in the set to earn a 25-22 opening set win. UVa-Wise played a competitive second set and had their best offensive performance of the match, recording 12 kills and hitting .179. The Cavs won the set 25-18 to tie up the match at a set a piece.

Storming out to a 15-4 lead, Charleston had its best performance of the match in the third set. The Golden Eagles swung .269 and made just two attack errors en route to a 25-12 third-set win.
