WISE, Va. – UVa-Wise men's basketball wraps up its three-game homestand Thursday night by hosting Concord University at 7:30 p.m. in the David J. Prior Convocation Center.

Storylines – vs. Concord UniversityThe Cavaliers will take on the Mountain Lions tomorrow night for the fifth time since becoming NCAA Division II members and joining the Mountain East Conference. UVa-Wise is 2-2 against Concord over the last two seasons, winning both games during the 2013-14 season but losing each of the two meetings last year. Two years ago the Cavs were a 71-68 winner over the Mountain Lions in the Prior Center before earning a 79-77 overtime win on the road the last game of the regular season. Last season Concord defeated UVa-Wise 92-55 in Athens, West Virginia, and 74-59 in Wise.

The Mountain Lions are coming off of a big, upset home win over top-ranked and MEC leader West Liberty (108-93) Monday night. Concord enters Thursday night's contest with a 6-2 road record this season, having already defeated West Virginia State (109-105), Notre Dame College (99-97) and Urbana University (100-90) in away conference games. However, the Mountain Lions have suffered setbacks in league play against Shepherd University (90-83) and Fairmont State (90-78) on the road, and West Virginia Wesleyan (90-89 3OT) and then 24th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit University (85-82 OT) at home.

Led by fifth-year head coach Kent McBride, Concord features two All-MEC selections from a year ago. Returning first-team selection senior forward Terry Hopewell is averaging 13.5 points per game and a team-leading 10.7 rebounds per game while junior guard Aaron Miller, who was named all-conference honorable mention a year ago, is averaging 18.4 points per game. Senior guard Rob Reed leads the team in scoring with 22 points per game and is coming off a 36-point outing in the win over No. 1 West Liberty Monday night.

The Cavs are coming off of a 96-77 loss to then 24th-ranked Wheeling Jesuit Monday night in the Prior Center. Sophomore forward
Dimitri Sousa recorded his second 30-point game of the season with a game-high 30 points, just one shy of his career-high, and also grabbed seven rebounds. The São Paulo, Brazil, native went 10-for-13 from the field and was 6-for-9 from downtown. Senior forward
Matt Day continued his outstanding play, scoring 22 points in Monday's loss and making a career-high tying 12 free-throws.

After Thursday night's contest the Cavs will hit the road for one game, traveling to the University of Charleston Tuesday for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off. The game will be played at Charleston Catholic High School in downtown Charleston.
