WISE, Va. – Wheeling Jesuit University spoiled Senior Day 2015 for UVa-Wise in a 14-6 victory in Lacrosse action on Sunday.

The Cardinals (6-7, 4-1 MEC) scored the first goals of the contest as Elizabeth Hales hit on three goals, Mary Burns scored one and Markie Wright scored in the first half. .

The Cavaliers (3-10, 1-4 MEC) scored its first goal of the half when Hannah Marshall scored unassisted with 17:07 to play in the first period.  Annie Hanson scored the second goal for UVa-Wise, and Stephanie Sintetas scored the final goal of the first half with 39 seconds left to play.

In the second half as the rain picked up, Wheeling Jesuit was able to hit on nine more goals in the victory.

Senior Megan Goodbrod scored one out of the six goals for UVa-Wise, she also had two ground balls and two draw controls.

Hanson and Sintetas each scored an additional goal in the second half for the Cavaliers.

Naya Williams finished with one assist, two ground balls and three caused turnovers, while Taylor Lawton added two assists, five ground balls and three caused turnovers for UVa-Wise

Mel Reilly had nine saves and three ground balls for the Cavaliers.

UVa-Wise will play its final game of the season on Wednesday as the team travels to Greeneville, Tennessee to take on Tusculum College at 5 pm.
