Box Score 2 CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The University of Charleston sweeps UVa-Wise in a pair of games on Thursday.
The Cavaliers (6-18, 6-12 MEC) committed six errors in game one to fall 9-0 before committing only one error in game two to fall 2-0 to the Golden Eagles.
Courtney Fain allowed only one hit in the six innings of game one, while adding seven strikeouts for Charleston (28-8, 13-5 MEC).
In game two, Sarah Beamer kept the game scoreless until the bottom of the sixth inning, as Jenna Evans knocked a triple into centerfield scoring two runs. Beamer allowed seven hits, two runs and five strikeouts against the Golden Eagles.
The Cavaliers will return to action tomorrow as the team travels to Wheeling, West Virginia to take on West Liberty University at 11 am.
