Box Score 2 FAIRMONT, W.Va. – Fairmont State claimed a 6-5 victory in game one before posting a 12-4 win to complete a doubleheader sweep of UVa-Wise in softball action on Sunday. 
The Fighting Falcons (10-3, 2-2 MEC) would gain the lead in the fourth after a RBI single from Addie Fullen and a two-run RBI double from Ericka Aversa. 
UVa-Wise would battle back to score a single run in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to lead the game 5-4. 
Back-to-back RBI singles from Sissy Stubbs and Fullen clinched the game for Fairmont State in the bottom of the seventh. 
In game two, the Cavaliers took the 2-0 lead in the top of the third as McLaughlin hit a RBI single to left field followed by a RBI single from Williams. 
The Fighting Falcons took an 8-2 lead over the Cavaliers, scoring four runs in the third and four in the fourth. 
McLaughlin hit a RBI single to right field followed by a RBI from Williams to bring the score to 8-4 in the top of the fifth. 
In the bottom of the fifth, Fairmont State scored two runs off of four hits to lead UVa-Wise 10-4. 
The Cavaliers were scoreless in the top of the sixth. 
The Fighting Falcons scored two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to lead UVa-Wise 12-4 to end the game by the run-rule. 
The Cavaliers will return to action tomorrow as the team travels to Shepherdstown, West Virginia to compete against Shepherd University at 12 pm.
