MECHANICSVILLE, Ohio - - Makenzie Cluesman carded an 81 on day one of the Mountain East Conference North Tournament en route to a fifth place finish as an individual. Cluesman's performance led UVa-Wise to a seventh place finish in the event that was won by Wheeling Jesuit University.

Wheeling Jesuit's team total of 695 was 13 strokes better than second place Notre Dame College.  The Cavaliers finished the event with a team score of 789 to finish six strokes in front of Glenville State College.

The tournament was the season opener for coach Leigh Clark's Cavs. The team will return to action at the Converse Invitational in Spartanburg, South Carolina next Monday.
