WISE - - Lees-McRae overcame a 2-1 deficit after doubles play to post a 6-3 non-conference women's tennis victory over UVa-Wise at the Humphrey's Tennis Complex on Monday.
Mary Jo Stallard and Junetta Nuckles scored an 8-6 victory in number two doubles action and Serena Burgess and Rose Bennett scored an 8-3 win in third singles to give the Cavaliers a 2-1 lead moving to single play.
In singles play, Nuckles claimed a 6-2, 6-4 win in number four singles but it was not enough as the Bobcats won the other singles matches to claim the 6-3 win.
