INSTITUTE, W.Va. – The UVa-Wise volleyball team traveled to Institute, West Virginia on Saturday for MEC action against West Virginia State University. The Yellow Jackets took it to five sets, but eventually defeated the Cavaliers 3-2 (25-22, 22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 15-7).

Lindsey Tucker finished with a match-high 18 kills, while Veronica Sanchez added a team-high 35 assists and Brittni Altmann collected a match-high 22 digs for UVa-Wise (12-14, 5-9 MEC).

West Virginia State University's Rebekah Baldwin led the Yellow Jackets (6-20, 4-11 MEC) with a team-high 16 kills, while Anneelise Albrecht added a match-high 51 assists and Cassie Ford collected a team-high 20 digs.

The Cavaliers will return to MEC action on Friday against West Virginia Wesleyan College at the Prior Center, first serve is at 5pm.
