WISE – The Highland Cavalier men's basketball team earned their nineteenth win of the season as they downed Coker 86-69 in a South Atlantic Conference game Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The game began with Coker's Zundra Jackson scoring the opening points on a jumper. UVA Wise responded quickly, with
Evan Ramsey hitting two free throws to tie the game. As the half progressed, the Cavs took control with a 7-0 run including a 3-pointer by
Cy Hardy at 15:51, extending its lead to 11-5.
Patrick Shelley contributed significantly for the Cavaliers, scoring a layup and a free throw at 12:32, pushing the lead to 18-12. Toward the end of the half,
Kam Roberts hit a jumper at the buzzer to secure a 50-35 advantage for the Highland Cavaliers.
- In a decisive second half, the Cavaliers maintained their strong lead over Coker, winning the half 36-34.
Anderson Cummins contributed significantly with multiple fast-break points, including a jumper at 13:24 and an assist on
Caden Giles' layup at 14:42. Ramsey was effective on the boards, securing a key defensive rebound at 16:49 and later converting a tip-in at 11:54. Coker attempted to rally, with Zundra Jackson making a dunk at the 2:18 mark, but the consistent scoring of the Cavs ensured their victory.

- The 19 wins tie the 2022-23 season for third most wins in a season in program history, behind 2002-03's 24 wins and 1993-94's 21 wins. The 12 SAC wins also tie for fourth-most conference wins by the Cavs.
