NEWBERRY, SC -- UVA Wise extended their winning streak to four as they defeated Newberry 3-2 on Friday in a South Atlantic Conference match, winning 23-25, 27-25, 25-20, 21-25, 15-12. A pair of career-highs led the way, as
Skye Williams had 18 kills and
Olivia Amos dished out 58 assists, matching Newberry's entire team output for assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Set
- The Cavaliers dropped the opening set 25-23 after Newberry closed it with a kill at 24-23.

Skye Williams led the Highland Cavaliers with five kills in the set, while
Serina Petersen added three.

Olivia Amos was credited on 11 Cavaliers kills as the Cavs finished with 13 kills, matching Newberry's set total.
- The Cavaliers cut an 18-13 deficit to 18-17 on kills by
Riley Brandon and Williams and a Brandon service ace, then later pulled within 24-23 before Newberry finished the set.
Second Set
- The Highland Cavaliers won the second set 27-25, scoring the final two points after Newberry tied the set at 25-25.

- Newberry won the set 25-21, finishing with a 16-14 edge in kills and the set's only service ace.

Mable James led the Highland Cavaliers with seven kills and was involved in both Cavaliers blocks, while Amos assisted on 13 of the team's 14 kills.
- The Cavs scored five of six points after trailing 6-3 to move ahead 8-7, then later cut a 21-13 deficit to 23-21 before Newberry closed the set.
Fifth Set
- The Cavaliers won the fifth set 15-12 to take the match 3-2, with
Riley Brandon recording the kill on the final point.
- The Highland Cavaliers turned a 7-3 deficit into a 10-8 lead by winning seven of eight rallies, then held off Newberry's late push.
- Sechrist and Brandon each had three kills in the set, while
Skye Williams added two.
- Amos assisted all eight Cavaliers kills and served four straight points during the run that put the Cavs ahead.
