WISE – UVA Wise and 21st-ranked Carson-Newman met on the Burchell Stallard Field diamond in a non-conference game Tuesday afternoon, and the Eagles used a ten run third inning to help take the 16-2 win over the Cavs.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles opened up the game with a two run homer from Logan Floyd. They then broke open the game in the third with a ten run inning to take the 12-0 lead.
- After C-N added three more insurance runs in the top of the fifth inning, the Cavs got on the board when
Gage Miller hit a single to center field with the bases loaded that scored
Kayden Adsit from third.
- Carson-Newman scored again in the sixth to make the lead 16-1 before a
Jake Weaver sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth scored
Dylan Foster.
- The Eagles were led by Spencer Williams' 4-4 at the plate with two RBI and three runs and Nathan Cole's 4-4 performance with two runs and four RBI. Floyd was 2-2 with three runs and five RBI on the day.
- The Cavs were led by
Jordan Tate, who was 3-4, while
Nick Badgett and Miller were each 2-4 at the plate.

The Cavs will play their final home games of the season as Mars Hill comes to town for a South Atlantic Conference series this weekend. First pitch for Friday's game is set for 6 p.m., while the first game of Saturday's doubleheader is slated for a 1 p.m. start. The Cavs will celebrate Senior Day on Saturday as well.
