HICKORY, NC – The UVA Wise baseball team fell to Lenoir-Rhyne in a South Atlantic Conference series Friday and Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Nick Badgett led off Friday's game with a solo home run in the top of the first inning. The Bears answered back with a pair of runs in the bottom of the inning. They added to their lead with three runs in the third, a run in the fourth, and nine runs in the fifth to win the game 15-1.
- The Cavs had seven hits in the game.
Joshua Morgan led the team with two hits.
- In Saturday's opener, Lenoir-Rhyne scored nine runs in the first inning and went on to take the 17-0 shutout.
- UVA Wise had four hits in the game, with Badgett, Morgan,
Matt Frye, and
Jacob Boyle accounting for the hits.
- The Bears scored a run in the second inning and four in the third to take the 5-0 lead. Boyle put the Cavs on the board in the fourth with a solo home run. Boyle would score again in the sixth inning on a wild pitch, joined soon after by Morgan who scored on an infield single by
Morgan Miller. The Bears would go on to win the game 7-3.

Jaden Ruehling had two of the Cavs' six hits, with Boyle, Morgan, Miller, and
Carter Babb getting the other hits.
