WISE – UVA Wise and Emory & Henry faced off in a non-conference single weekday game Tuesday afternoon, and in the end the Wasps stung the Highland Cavaliers with a two run home run in the top of the tenth inning to claim the 2-0 win.
The two teams have already played their South Atlantic Conference series a couple weeks ago with the Cavs taking two of the three games to win the series.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cavs had four hits in the game and stranded six runners.
Bernard Creque,
Matt Frye,
Dylan Foster, and
Jordan Tate accounted for the hits.
- Neither team was able to get a run across throughout the first nine innings, although the Cavs had chances in the fourth and fifth innings.
- The Wasps picked up their runs in the tenth inning after a runner reached via an error. The next batter blasted a two run home run over the left field wall to put E&H ahead 2-0. The Cavs had runners on second and third with one out, but a foul out and ground out ended the inning and UVA Wise's comeback hopes.

The Cavs will host nationally ranked Catawba in a SAC series beginning Friday at 5 p.m. Catawba is ranked eighth in the American Baseball Coaches Association Poll and seventh in the D2 Baseball Poll. UVA Wise is receiving votes in both of those polls. Catawba was ranked ninth in last week's National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Poll. The new poll will be released on Wednesday.
