Yoro Diallo has been named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week.
Conference officials made the announcement earlier today.
Diallo averaged 21.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 2.0 steals as the team went 2-0 over the week with wins over Wingate and Newberry. For the week the Cincinnati native shot 60.0 percent of the field, 42.9 percent from three-point range, and 60.0 percent from the free throw line.
Against Wingate Wednesday evening he had 17 points, nine rebounds, and four assists in the Cavs' nine-point win over the Bulldogs.
At Newberry on Saturday, Diallo scored 25 points, five rebounds, three assists, and three steals in the 91-85 win.
This is the first time Diallo has earned SAC Player of the Week honors.
The Cavs will host local rival Emory & Henry Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. on the Quillen Court in the David J. Prior Convocation Center. The Cavs have won the last two meetings and seven of the last nine.
