ROCK HILL, SC -- UVA Wise volleyball's Kaylee Scarce and Cassidy Farley have been named to the Preseason All-South Atlantic Conference teams, conference officials announced on Monday.

Scarce was named to the Second Team while Farley earned Third Team honors. This marks the first time that multiple UVA Wise student-athletes have earned Preseason All-SAC honors since the institution joined the conference in 2019.

Scarce, a senior outside hitter / defensive specialist from Dry Fork, Virginia, led the team in kills (326) and was second in digs (330) last season. She also had 30.0 total blocks and 21 service aces. The rising senior ranked second in the SAC in service receptions; third in total attacks and attacks per set; fourth in kills; and 13th in digs.

Farley was a blocking machine last season as she had 86.0 total blocks and 1.21 blocks per set despite missing six matches due to illness. She led the SAC in blocks per set and was second in solo blocks. The Abingdon, Virginia, native is returning for a fifth year.

Additionally, the team has been picked to finished 12th in the preseason poll conducted by the SAC coaches.

The team opens their season when they host the Cavalier Classic from September 5-7. UVA Wise will play on the first and last days of the Classic. On September 5 they will host West Alabama at 2 p.m. and King at 6 p.m. On September 7 they host Bluefield State at 10 a.m. and Lees-McRae at 2 p.m.
