ROCK HILL – UVA Wise volleyball's
Morgan Blankenship has been named to the All-South Atlantic Conference Third Team, while
Mable James earned a spot on the SAC All-Freshman squad. Conference officials announced the teams earlier today.
Blankenship led the team in service aces with 29 and also had 207 kills and 47.0 blocks on the season. She had a career high in aces twice this season with six against King and Catawba. For her career she has 495 kills from 1,681 attacks, has 29 aces, 149 digs, 110 assist blocks, and 116 total blocks. The 110 assist blocks tie her for 17th in program history with Lindsey Tucker (2013-16).
James had an impressive freshman outing as she had 101 kills from 282 attacks for a .202 attack percentage. She also had 15 solo and 58 assist blocks for a total of 73 blocks. Her blocks led the team and the kills were fifth on the team this season.
The team ended their season with a 14-15 record following the loss in the SAC Tournament Quarterfinals Tuesday evening. The 14 wins are the most since 2015. They also went 8-10 in South Atlantic Conference play, a program record since the team joined the SAC in 2019.
