Hunter Anderson picked up his school record fourteenth career save on Saturday in game two of the series with South Atlantic Conference foe, Emory and Henry College, breaking the previous record by David Jones that had stood for over fifteen years. Cavalier Senior
Justin Reed led the weekend offensive attack, as he homered twice and drove in seven runs.
Emory and Henry came from behind in games one and three of the series behind superb pitching performances, keeping the Cavalier bats quiet throughout much of the weekend, to take the series victory.

GAME ONE:
-Emory and Henry struck for four runs in the first inning behind home runs from Caeden Howell and Garrison Bullock.

Justin Reed launched a grand slam to put the Cavaliers ahead 5-4 after an inning.
-The Wasps tied the game in the third, before pulling away in the fourth inning.

Ryan Whitson and
Jake Taylor combined for six shutout innings on the mound for the Cavaliers in the loss.

DJ Dickson stayed hot for the Cavaliers. After tying the SAC single-game walks record last weekend at Newberry, Dickson was 4-5 for the Cavaliers, the third 4-hit game of his career.
GAME TWO:
-For the second consecutive game,
Justin Reed homered in his first at-bat of the game. The three-run homer put the Cavaliers ahead for good in the first inning.

Garrett Stiltner was magnificent on the mound, He did not allow a hit through 4.2 innings, surrendering just 5 (4 singles) through seven innings, while allowing just one run to earn the victory on the mound.

GAME THREE:
-UVA Wise Catcher
Jake Weaver doubled home
Jaden Ruehling to put the Cavaliers ahead 1-0 in the second inning.
-The Wasps plated three runs in the fourth inning, and added another run in the sixth to take a 4-1 lead.

Cole Harness hit his 11
th home run in the sixth inning to draw the Cavaliers within a run, before the Wasps extended their lead in the seventh inning.

Jaden Ruehling had two hits for the Cavaliers in the loss, on his way to a .400 average for the series.
UP NEXT
The UVA Wise Baseball Team will continue their eight game homestand as they host Bluefield State University for a mid-week doubleheader Tuesday. Wingate University comes to town next weekend for a three-game South Atlantic Conference Series scheduled for Friday and Saturday.
