HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The UVA Wise women's tennis team resumed play after a long break due to rescheduling and lost a pair of South Atlantic Conference matches at Carson-Newman Friday afternoon and at Coker on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The match at Carson-Newman was rescheduled from earlier this season due to weather.
- The Eagles claimed the doubles point as they won two of the three doubles flights, all by close scores.

Christina Korakopoulou and
Abiela Wang defeated C-N's Julia Speiser and Sindija Manovska 6-1 in the third flight.

Antonella Campodonico and
Constanca Azinhaga fell 7-5 in the first flight, while
Lucy Cunliffe and
Amelia Monteith lost 6-4.
- In singles play, only three flights were played due to hurry-up rules. Cunliffe fell 6-1, 6-1 in the first flight, Azinhage fell 6-3, 6-4 in the third flight, and
Emily Conn was defeated 6-0, 6-0 in the fifth flight.
- At Coker, once again Korakopoulou and Wang won at the third doubles flight, but the Cobras won the first two flights by 6-1 scores to claim the match point.
- In singles play Coker picked up wins at the first and fifth flights before Korakopoulou defeated Angeline Krieg 6-4, 4-6, 6-2 in the third flight to cut the lead to 3-1.
- Coker then grabbed wins at the second, fourth, and sixth flights to take the 6-1 match victory.
