WISE – The UVA Wise men's basketball team will play two games this week as they host Catawba Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. take a short break for the Thanksgiving holiday, and then play at Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday at 7 p.m.
Saturday's game was originally scheduled for a 4 p.m. start, but was moved to 7 p.m. to accommodate the football team's appearance in the second round of the NCAA Playoffs, which L-R is hosting that day.
GETTING WISE
- UVA Wise are currently 3-2 overall and 1-1 in the SAC. As a team the Cavs are outshooting the competition 44.2%-42.8% and outscoring them 80.8-79.4 points per game. They are also outrebounding opponents 41.4-40.2 rebounds per game.
- Four Cavaliers are scoring in double-digits, led by
Bradley Dean's 17.8 points a game.
Lav Cvetkovic' (15.2),
Evan Ramsey (11.8) and
Anderson Cummins (11.8) are the others.
- Dean also leads the team in assists (5.80 assists per game) and is second in steals with 1.8 a game.
- Ramsey leads the team in rebounds (9.2 rebounds a game) and is second in the SAC in rebounds per game and fourth in field goal percentage with 67.6%.

Patrick Shelley is second on the team in rebounds (7.0 per game) and is averaging 9.6 points a game.
ABOUT CATAWBA
- Catawba is currently 3-2 on the season and 1-1 in SAC play. The conference games are a 76-71 loss at Anderson and a big 86-76 win at #24 Carson-Newman Saturday afternoon.
- They are scoring 81.2 points a game while allowing 79.6 points. Opponents are outshooting the Catawba Indians 52.1%-42.0%
- Kris Robinson leads the team with 13.6 points a game. Nick Walker is next with 9.6 ppg and he is second in rebounding with 6.8 rebounds a game.
- Ibra Athie leads the Catawba Indians in rebounding with 7.2 rebounds a game.
- Montraivis White averages 3.8 assists and 2.80 steals a game to lead the team, while Justin Banks is averaging 1.4 blocks a game.
ABOUT LENOIR-RHYNE
- The Bears are 4-2 overall and 2-1 in SAC play. Their only SAC loss is at Carson-Newman 105-101, while they have wins at Newberry last Wednesday and at Emory & Henry Saturday afternoon. They host Wingate Tuesday evening before the Highland Cavs come to town Saturday.
- They are outscoring their opponents by a 88.7-88.2 margin and outshooting them 50.3%-43.1%. The Bears are also owning the boards by a 40.2 rpg-31.0 rpg margin.
- Ziare Wells leads the team in scoring with 18.3 points a game, while Hantz Louis-Jeune has 16.0 and Conrad Luczynski has 13.3 points per game.
- Luczynski (6.5) and Louis-Jeune (6.0) are also the leaders in rebounding for the Bears.
