OAK RIDGE. TN – The UVA Wise golf teams ended the fall portion of the 2024-25 campaign as the women finished third and the men placed fifth in the Atomic City Classic.
Emma Zelaski led the women as she hit for 162 (82-80) to tie for seventh overall.
Olivia Baker's 81-83=164 secured a ninth-place finish.
Lilli Kate Barker was two strokes behind at 166 (87-79) and tied for eleventh, while
Julia Kessler hit 87 in both rounds to finish with 174 strokes and tie for 20
th place.
Overall, the women shot for 337 in the first round and 329 in the second round for a total of 666. The second round score of 329 is their best round thus far this season.
On the men's side,
Tzu-Wei Huang (75-74) and
Reilly Yoder (76-73) both shot 149 to tie for 19
th place.
Piyachote Naphapayarksiri was three strokes behind at 152 (75-77) and tied for 26
th.
Jack England was 41
st with his 75-81=156, while
Evan Loftis tied for 52
nd with his 162 strokes (82-80) for the tournament.
As a team, the Highland Cavalier men shot 300 and 304 for a total of 604 and fifth place in the eleven team event.
