UVA Wise (14-27) got within a run behind a five-run fifth inning. Gavin Birkhimer, Kyle Hoeth and DJ Dickson each had an RBI single before D'Sean Prinkleton doubled in a pair.

The Cavs would go down in order in the seventh as Aiden Hedgepath earned his fourth save of the season. Zach Powell earned the mound win for Bluefield State by logging the first 4 1/3 innings of the contest.
Dickson was the lone UVA Wise hitter to finish with multiple hits as he finished game one 2-for-4 with a pair of runs scored. Vela-Payne, Cote and Sullivan had two hits each in the win for the Blues.
Game two saw the visitors use a six-run fifth inning to break free from what was a one-run affair.
Bluefield State led 4-2 after an inning of play as Sullivan knocked in a pair, Ball singled in one and Brantley Durham lifted a sacrifice fly to the outfield.
The four-run frame by the Blues was an answer to an RBI double by Nick Badgett and a run scoring on an error for the Cavs in the top half of the frame.
UVA Wise tied the game in the top of the second as Dickson had an RBI groundout and Badgett scampered home on a wild pitch.
After a pair of scoreless innings from Cavalier reliever Hunter Garrett, the guests took the lead for good in the fourth inning when Badgett scored for the second time of the game on a wild pitch.
In what proved to be the decisive sixth inning, Badgett had a two-run homer and Prinkleton belted a two-run homer as part of the six-run inning.
Cole Harness lined an RBI hit in the seventh while Justin Reed picked up a two-run double to provide insurance for Costa's crew to make it a 14-4 game.
The Blues scored three in the seventh on a two-run hit by Erik Romero before Romero later scored on a run-scoring hit.
Reed tied a season-high with three hits while Badgett tied a career-high with five runs scored to pace UVA Wise in the victory. Badgett, Harness and Jeb Hurst added two hits each for the Cavs.
Prinkleton walked in addition to his homer, it was his 31st walk of the season, establishing a new single-season program record.
