UVA WISE NEWS & NOTES

- We got that Bradley Dean magic in the house once again — the SAC Player of the Year proved his honor with a solid 35 points against No. 9 ranked Lincoln Memorial in the conference semifinals to help catapult the Cavaliers to their first ever South Atlantic Conference Championship appearance.

- The last time the Cavaliers beat the Railsplitters was on Dec, 8, 2012 when UVA Wise snagged a 81-80 victory in overtime.

- Saturday's win snapped a 14-game losing skid over the Railsplitters for the UVA Wise men's basketball program.

- He cannot be stopped — Bradley Dean became the 39th player in school history to score 1,000 career points and Dean is 37 points shy of the UVA Wise single-season NCAA Division II era program record of 658 points in a season currently held by Day (2015-16).

- A win would give UVA Wise its first conference tournament since 2010 and its first 20-win season since 2003

Calen Lightford added the Cavalier success over the final stretch  — the freshman has committed four combined turnovers over his last four games; he did not turn it over in 28 minutes of play during Saturday's semifinal win over Lincoln Memorial.

- Luke Lawson did not attempt a 3-pointer Saturday, marking the first time all season he has not attempted at least one triple. Lawson has made a team-high 88 3-pointers this winter.
