HARROGATE, TENN. – The UVA Wise women's tennis team opened the 2023 spring season with Belmont Abbey on Saturday, and fell to the Crusaders by a score of 6-1 at the LMU Indoor Tennis Complex.
The duo of Constanca Azinhaga and Antonella Campodonico snagged the only doubles win for the Cavaliers (6-2, 0-0 SAC) in the No. 1 spot with a 6-4 triumph over Belmont Abbey's (2-1) Alexis Burkhalter and Kaitlin Nguyen.
In singles, Azinhaga squeezed out the sole UVA Wise victory as the freshman swiped Elizabeth Vollmin in two sets.
