UVA Wise NEWS & NOTES
- After securing their first winning season since 2009 with an Emory & Henry win on Feb. 15, UVA Wise hit a snag after taking a loss from No. 12-ranked Lincoln Memorial by a score of 92-79.
- Shelley's career-high 17 points was accompanied by a 16 point performance from Lawson and a 15 point day from Bradley Dean. Dean also added a team-high eight rebounds to his stat line.
- Lincoln Memorial always defends the Cavaliers well — the top-shooting Cavaliers have been held under 40-percent from the arc in both meetings with Lincoln Memorial this year.
- Going into the Lenoir-Rhyne faceoff, UVA Wise has only beat the Bears once in their last six meetings. .In their last matchup, leading scorer TJ Nesmith put up a double-double (29 points, 10 rebs) in the 85-70 Bears win. Bradley Dean was one of three Cavaliers who scored in double-figures (13 pts).
- A win over the Bears would give the Cavaliers a 9-9 conference record, their best-ever finish in South Atlantic Conference regular season play. Their current record also secures a postseason appearance for the Cavaliers — a first for the program since their induction to the SAC.
