WISE -- Senior middle hitter Cassidy Farley will be honored during UVA Wise volleyball's senior night festivities ahead of the Cavs' final match of the 2023 season Friday night against Catawba. Farley has made many people proud with an amazing four years at UVA Wise.
A native of Abingdon, Virginia, she joined the program in 2020. In her freshman year, during the COVID-shortened season, she recorded 27 kills and 17 blocks in just 6 matches, earning her a spot on the South Atlantic Conference All-Freshman Team.
Farley has led UVA Wise in blocks in all four years of her career, amassing a career total of 239 blocks. On Sep. 20, 2023, she made history in a match against Carson-Newman. In the second set, she recorded her 200th career block, making her just the second player to reach 200 career blocks in the Division II era in UVA Wise history.
This season, Farley currently ranks 1st in the SAC and 12th in NCAA DII in blocks per set, averaging 1.3 blocks each frame.
Farley has dominated on offense in her career, too. Totaling 311 kills in four years with a career hitting percentage of .231 percent.
Off the floor, she has proven to be a model student for UVA Wise, having been named to the Dean's List in all three academic school years. She has also displayed outstanding leadership as the vice president of the UVA Wise Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
Majoring in Administration of Justice, Farley intends to become an investigator after her graduation.
