TIP-OFF TIDBITS - A BATTLE OF SOUTHWEST VIRGINIA
Ben Thompson and the Emory & Henry crew come into Wise, Va. with a 10-6 overall record and a 2-5 record in conference with wins over Mars Hill and Tusculum. As a team, Emory & Henry averages 86 points per game which ranks second in the league. UVA WISE NEWS & NOTES
UVA Wise suffered a tough second half in their last conference matchup against Catawba on Saturday, Jan. 17. The Cavs were held to 0-16 from the arc in the final 20 minutes, and the Catawba squad outrebounded the Cavs
48-25 on the night. Despite the loss, Bradley Dean held his ground with a solid 20 points while Patrick Shelley snagged a career-high 16 points with eight rebounds.
The Cavaliers have a solid success rate on their home court (6-3), while Emory & Henry sit with a 3-2 record on the road.
