WISE, VA — Head Coach Alyssa Hanley and her crew head back home on Tuesday to face Limestone, and will be back on the road on Saturday against Lenoir-Rhyne in conference play this week.

UVA Wise recently went the distance in a 3-1 (21-15, 4-25, 25-21, 21-25) hard-battled loss against Lincoln Memorial on Saturday, Sep. 17. Freshman Bailey Conner put up a career-high 16 kills in the matchup while freshman Piper Suddeth produced a match-leading 16 assists. The Cavaliers won their first conference set of the season in set three as UVA Wise secured a 25-21 win.

LIMESTONE NOTES

The Saints sit at a 4-3 overall record and a 1-3 record in SAC play — putting them in 5th place in the SAC Mountain division.

In the conference rankings, Mia Martinez ranks in fourth place with 3.39 kills per set. Defensively, Gabby Wessells is ranked in third place with 5.13 digs per set and fifth place in total digs with 154.

Mia Martinez leads the Saints with 61 overall kills while Malina Harris has racked up 157 assists on the year.

In their last matchup against Mars Hill, Mailie Chretien led Limestone with 14 kills, but her squad fell short in a 3-2 (14-25, 16-25, 25-21, 25-20, 5-15) loss.

LENOIR-RHYNE NOTES

The Lenoir-Rhyne Bears currently sit in undefeated fashion in conference with a 4-0 record. In all SAC matches, the Bears have not yet been forced to a fifth set thus far. The Bears currently sit in first place in the SAC Piedmont division.

Ashley Hawkins sits in second place in total kills in the conference rankings with 129. Teammate Emmaleigh Allen is right behind her with 127.

Defensively, Bailey Carpenter ranks in fourth place in digs per set with 4.54 and second in total digs with 177.

Jaden Vaughn leads the conference service ace per set category with 0.56.

Hawkins leads Lenoir-Rhyne with 3.31 kills per set and Mackenzie Hulsey has racked up an impressive 255 assists on the year.
