HICKORY, N.C. - - On a day when UVA Wise senior Tyler Campbell tied the single-season school record for home runs with 15, it was host Lenoir-Rhyne who came out victorious with a doubleheader sweep. The Bears won game one 6-5 before claiming a 4-0 win in the finale to complete a three-game series sweep.
 GAME ONE
LR SCORES FIRST
Will Cuda gave Lenoir-Rhyne (34-7, 13-5 SAC) a 1-0 lead when he homered to lead off the home half of the first inning. Later in the frame, the Bears took a 2-0 lead on a run-scoring single from Nick Clarno
UVA WISE TAKES LEAD
Justin Reed put UVA Wise (13-27, 3-15 SAC) on the board when he homered over the scoreboard in centerfield in the second inning. In the third inning, the Cavaliers would tie the game on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Clay Taylor before Campbell made history with a two-run shot to left field to give his club a 4-2 lead. Campbell's 15th homer of the season not only tied the single-season school mark, it allowed him to remain the South Atlantic Conference home run leader and remain in the top 10 nationally among NCAA Division II players.
BEARS GO BACK ON TOP
An RBI double by Cuda cut the lead to a run before Cole Laskowski tripled in a run to tie the game and later scored on a wile pitch to give the Bears a 5-4 lead.
TYING IT BACK UP
JoJo Kelliher worked a bases-loaded walk to tie the game back up in the sixth but UVA Wise would get no more in the inning as LR reliever Braden Houston would strand the bases loaded.
WALKING IT OFF
The score remain unchanged until the bottom of the ninth when the Bears won the game via four walks to score the one-run win.
BOX SCORE NOTES
Bret Roberts and Reed had two hits each to pace a six-hit effort for the Cavs. On the mound, Justin Snider fanned a season-high seven hitters over 4 2/3 innings of work for UVA Wise.
LR hitters were limited to four hits in the game but, Bears' pitching fanned hitters to secure the win.
GAME TWO
HOME TEAM STRIKES FIRST
Drew Yniesta's two-run homer in the home first gave LR a lead it would not relinquish.
CAVS MISS CHANCE IN SECOND
DJ Dickson walked to lead off the inning and with one out moved up to second base on an error. UVA Wise would be unable to get the outfielder home to tie the game as Andrew Patrick struck out consecutive hitters to get out of the jam.
UVA WISE LEAVES 'EM LOADED
In the third inning, UVA Wise would load the bases with two outs but again Patrick would be able to get out of trouble, this time with an inning-ending groundout.
SECOND HOMER
Laskowski put his squad up 3-0 with a solo shot in the third.
FOURTH RUN
An RBI double by David Bell in the fourth inning provided the fourth run of the game and the final winning margin of 4-0.
BOX SCORE NOTES
Campbell went 3-for-3 with a walk to lead UVA Wise offensively. On the mound, David Kelliher fanned four over two innings of scoreless relief for the Cavs. For LR, Patrick, Jackson Reid and Ben Friebel combined to punch out eight UVA Wise hitters. Patrick tossed five innings, striking out six, walking three and scattering six hits to improve to 7-1 on the year.
