CAVS OPEN EIGHT-GAME HOMESTAND THIS WEEKEND AGAINST SAINTS

Wise Facts

UVA Wise enters the weekend series with a chance to more than triple its win total from 2021. First-year coach Brandon Costa's squad has garnered 14 wins this spring after the team posted just five wins last spring.

Senior Tyler Campbell can make history this weekend. The designated hitter has tied the single-season home run record with 15

Over the last 15 games, Bret Roberts has been one of the nation's top hitters. Roberts is 27-for-55 during the span, good enough for a .490 batting average.

On the mound, Hunter Tensen has not allowed a run since March 23. During the stretch, Tensen has tossed 5 1/3 innings of scoreless relief allowing just two hits and a walk.

This weekend's series begins a season-ending eight-game homestand for UVA Wise. The Cavaliers are 7-4 at Stallard Field this season.

About Limestone

Limestone enters the weekend set on an 11-game losing skid and a 1-25 record over its last 26 games. The Saints have yet to win a true road game.

Clark Burroughs has been Limestone's big offensive threat. Burroughs has clubbed 10 homers while knocking in a team-leading 29 runs this spring.

Inside SAC Action

Wingate (2) and Newberry (16) are ranked in the most recent NCBWA Poll. The Bulldogs are the defending national champions and currently sit atop the league standings with a 15-2 mark inside SAC play.

Wingate's Mitch Farris earned SAC and Southeast Region Player of the Week honors this week. Farris hit .636 with four homers, eight runs scored and 11 RBI in his team's series win over Newberry.

A trio of SAC teams (Wingate, Lenoir-Rhyne, Newberry) have already won at least 30 games while Catawba, Queens, LMU and Carson-Newman have eclipsed 20 wins.
