ROCK HILL, S.C. - - UVA Wise redshirt senior Kalee Johnson has been named AstroTurf South Atlantic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week for her play in a pair of Cavalier victories last week. For the week, the Elizabethton, Tenn. product averaged 17 points, 13.5 rebounds and three steals in the two games.

Johnson started the week with an 11-point, 10-rebound performance in UVA Wise's 67-56 win over Tusculum which guaranteed her club of a postseason berth. Saturday, the forward registered 23 points, 17 rebounds, five steals and two blocks on Senior Day as UVA Wise knocked off No. 23 Catawba 75-59.

This marks the second time in Johnson's career that she has won the award and is the first weekly honor she has garnered this season. She joins teammate Nia Vanzant as Cavs that have won the award this winter.

UVA Wise will begin SAC Tournament play Wednesday at No. 2 seed Carson-Newman. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
