HARTSVILLE, S.C. - - Host Coker scored the final five runs of the game as the Cobras scored an 11-6 South Atlantic Conference baseball victory over UVA Wise in the league opener for both schools Friday.
WHERE IT BEGAN
Phil Griffor doubled in a run to put Coker up 1-0 in the home first. An inning later, the Cobras struck for four runs to go up 5-0 with the big blow coming from Riley Hall who tripled home a pair.
UVA WISE COMEBACK
Shyhiem Pannell blasted a three-run homer to plate Kyle Hoeth and JoJo Kelliher in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to two. An inning later, Tyler Campbell's sixth homer of the year made it a 5-4 affair.
COKER ADDS ON
An error allowed the hosts to make it a 6-4 game after six innings of play.
CAVS TIE IT UP
Jude Drzemiecki tripled home JoJo Kelliher before later scoring on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Hunter Meador to tie the game at 6-6.
COBRAS BIG SEVENTH
Coker scored four times in the seventh as Hall lined a two-run double as part of the decisive frame.
ON THE MOUND
The Cobras' Tyler Fowler earned the win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless ball in relief.
