Storyline – vs. QUEENS
The Queens Royals have climbed within the NABC Top 25 poll for the entirety of the season; sitting in the No. 18 spot as of Jan. 30. The Royals have only lost three games all season, and they have all been SAC opponents — Tusculum, Newberry, and Lincoln Memorial. Bart Lundy's squad hasn't met UVA Wise yet this season, but the 2020-21 season displayed a large 20-point Royals win over the Cavs last February.
As a team, Queens is sitting at a 46.9% from the field and a 37.9% from the arc. The rebounds category is where Queens shines, though, as their team leads the SAC in rebounds per game with 41.3.Â

ABOUT UVA WISE
UVA Wise's last home game ended in a tough loss as Limestone defeated the Cavs by an 18-point margin. UVA Wise could not get a shot to drop ; shooting less than 40% in the first half, and only dropping one three-point shot in the first 20 minutes of play. Even with five Cavaliers scoring in double-digits and Limestone's leading scorer out of the game, the Saints' 73% outing from the field in the second half sealed the deal.Â
The Cavaliers have struggled with keeping control of the ball as they committed 13 turnovers in the first half of their Limestone matchup. In order to hold their ground against nationally-ranked Queens, UVA Wise must cut down on turnovers Âand attack in the paint early on both ends of the court.Â
