WISE - - Former Cavalier Evan Sturgill has been named Head Men's Golf Coach at UVA Wise. A native of Pound, Virginia, Sturgill was a four-year letter winner for the program, where he aided the team to the 2010 UVA Wise Invitational Championship.

Sturgill graduated from UVA Wise with a degree in business administration and, since graduation has owned/operated several businesses, most notably Evan Sturgill Photography.

The new coach works for Lonesome Pine Country Club and R.H. Sturgill Construction, in addition to his position at UVA Wise.

Sturgill and his wife Haley have a 4-year-old son, Nixon.
