WISE – Following an altered 2021 spring season, head coach Kristen Salyer has announced the upcoming fall 2021 volleyball schedule.

UVA Wise is scheduled to play 25 regular season contests with the home opener set for Thursday, Sept. 2 at 7 p.m. against King University inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center. Coach Salyer's squad will play six nonconference matches during the campaign.

The Cavs open the South Atlantic Conference slate on the road Tuesday, Sept. 7 at Tusculum before traveling to North Greenville University for a tournament Sept. 10-11. UVA Wise returns home Sept. 17 for its first league matchup inside the Prior Center as the Cavs host Anderson University Friday at 6 p.m. prior to taking on the Wolves of Newberry College, Saturday Sept. 18 in a 2 p.m. tilt at home. The Cavs will close out September with a pair of SAC road matches and end the month with a visit from nonconference foe Concord University Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m.

Coach Salyer's team jumps back into conference play to open October at Mars Hill on Oct. 1 and at Lenoir-Rhyne on Oct. 2. The Cavs host Emory & Henry Tuesday, Oct. 5 to kick-off a six-game homestand. UVA Wise will play reigning SAC regular season and spring tournament champions Wingate University Friday, Oct. 15 at home with first serve set for 7 p.m. The Cavs travel to Concord University on Oct. 26 for their last nonconference game of the campaign and close out October with a match against Limestone University Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. inside the Prior Center.

The Cavs will compete in five matches in November to wrap up the fall. UVA Wise welcomes Mars Hill Tuesday, Nov. 2 for a 7 p.m. contest prior to a weekend road trip to South Carolina as the Cavs take on Anderson on Nov. 5 and Newberry on Nov. 6. UVA Wise concludes the regular season at home the next weekend as the Cavs host Lincoln Memorial Friday, Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. and Carson-Newman Saturday, Nov. 13 at 5 p.m.
