Head coach Chuck Benson and the Carson-Newman Eagles are on the hunt for their 5th win in a row against the UVA Wise Cavaliers on Wednesday, with their most recent win against Anderson by a knockout score of 80-57. 

The Carson-Newman Eagles are placed in the middle of the South Atlantic Conference (SAC) pack, with three wins in the league. Currently, the Eagles are shooting 46.2% from the field, 42.6% from the arc, and average 38.2 rebounds per game (2.8 more than their opponents).

In UVA Wise and Carson-Newman's last meeting, Coker took the win 97-70 on February 10, 2021.

Head Coach Blake Mellinger and the Cavs are hungry for a win in the David J. Prior Convocation Center on Wednesday, Dec. 8 against the Carson-Newman Eagles after being served a close 80-71 loss against the Coker Cobras last week. Although Joel Pettiford produced a double-double of 10 rebounds and a game-and-career-high 23 points, the Cavs couldn't support him from the field and only went 25-65 (38.5%). UVA Wise also faltered from the arc, only connecting on 10-35 shots. Three Cavs scored in double digits and the team connected on over 50% of their free-throw buckets, but the Cobras eventually handed UVA Wise their eighth loss on the season.
