Storylines – vs TUSCULUM UNIVERSITY
Head coach JT Burton's Pioneers enter into Sunday afternoon's matchup with an undefeated record after posting wins against Wingate and UVA Wise at home. Against the Bulldogs, five players scored in double-figures led by guard Trenton Gibson's 14-point effort to aid coach Burton's team to an 87-75 victory. Gibson added six rebounds, six assists, and went 9-for-10 at the line in the season opening win. Tusculum held Wingate to shooting just 21.4 percent from three-point range. Gibson led his team once more in scoring when the Pioneers hosted the Cavaliers, registering 31 points, going 19-for-21 at the line, along with eight boards. Forward Joshua Scott recorded a double-double for the Pioneers with his 13 points and team-high 11 rebounds against the Cavs. Following Sunday's league matchup, Tusculum will travel to Catawba for a game on Wednesday, December 9.

Cameron Whiteside totaled 33 points for his second-straight 30+ point performance of the season, notching his 1,000th career point on a corner three less than three minutes into the game. Whiteside finished with seven rebounds while shooting 60 percent (12-for-20) from the field and 57 percent (4-for-7) from three-point range.
