WISE - - The Cavaliers extended their winning streak to a season-high three matches on Wednesday evening with a 7-0 victory over King University.
Freshmen Liza Akimenko and Katya Akimenko teamed up for their third straight win at the No. 1 doubles position with a 6-1 victory. Senior Montana Hill and freshman Lillian Morris were defeated 6-1 at the No. 2 position, but a 6-3 victory at the No. 3 position by junior Aya Melhem and freshman Grace Hall secured the doubles point for the Cavaliers.
Liza Akimenko improved to 13-3 on the year in singles play with a 6-1, 6-3 victory at the No. 1 position. Katya Akimenko and Melhem both extended their winning streaks to three matches, as Akimenko took the No. 2 position 6-3, 6-0 and Melhem won at the No. 3 position 6-0, 6-1. In her next-to-last home match of her career, Hill came away with an 8-1 victory at the No. 4 position. Hall and freshman Olivia Dishner both earned 8-5 victories at the No. 6 and No. 5 positions respectively.
The Cavaliers will play their final home match of the year on Saturday at noon when they host Salem University for Senior Day.
