GREENEVILLE, Tenn. - - Women's tennis dropped its first match of 2019 on Saturday with a 7-0 loss at Tusculum University. 

The Pioneers took the doubles point by defeating the Cavaliers 6-0 in all three matches. Freshman Liza Akimenko suffered her first loss in singles play as a Cavalier, falling 6-2, 6-3 to Tusculum's Annie McCullough at the No. 1 position. Freshman Katya Akimenko also lost her first singles match of her Cavalier career in a 6-1, 6-0 defeat at the No. 2 position. Junior Aya Melham lost 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 3 singles position, while senior Montana Hill fell 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 4 spot. 

The Cavaliers will look to bounce back on Sunday when they travel to Carson-Newman University to face the Eagles. First serve is scheduled for 9 a.m. at the Knoxville Racquet Club.
