WISE – Head coach Kristen Salyer's squad will play a single match at home this weekend as the Cavs host Carson-Newman University at 7 p.m. inside the David J. Prior Convocation Center. UVa-Wise will then hit the road for a 2 p.m. match Saturday afternoon at Lincoln Memorial University.

About UVa-Wise
- Coach Salyer's team will play host to the Eagles of Carson-Newman Friday night while the Cavs look to pick up their first conference win of the season inside the Prior Center. UVa-Wise is currently 1-20 overall and 0-16 in the South Atlantic Conference.
- Redshirt senior Ciara Kain continues to help power the offense for the Cavs as she posts a team-high 176 kills so far this season. Sophomores Matelyn Gibson and Kelsey Green come in at a tie for second most kills (118) while junior Brooke Abbott (101) is the only other Cavalier to break 100 kills this year.
- Abbott also leads her team with 33 total blocks while sophomore Abigail Byington has notched 20 total blocks this season followed by Kain and junior Madelyn Lawrence who have 14 total blocks apiece.
- Senior Morgan Milligan sits atop a pair of categories, tallying 298 digs (10th in the SAC) and 21 service aces this year. Milligan has added 156 assists to her stat line this season as freshman Zoe Avery has notched a team-high 235 assists for UVa-Wise.
- Coach Salyer's team will be back on the road for next weekend's matches before wrapping up the regular season slate at home.
Notes on Carson-Newman
- Currently fourth in the league standings, the Eagles come to Wise with an 11-5 conference mark, 17-6 overall, going 10-2 during the month of October. Carson-Newman picked up a pair of sweeps this past weekend with a home win against Newberry before defeating Lenoir-Rhyne on the road.
- Senior Marnie Streeter's 238 kills this season place her fourth among league leaders in the category. Junior Erin Edwards (206) is the only other Eagle to crack 200 kills this year. Edward's .303 attack percentage is the eighth-best in the conference.
- Three Eagles have notched over 200 assists this campaign, led by senior Elena Vasquez who has 335 to date. Sophomore Taylor Rohr follows Vasquez with 247 assists while junior Madison Rademacher has accumulated 201 assists so far this year.
- Senior Morgan Ballard's 447 digs ranks her second in the conference along with her 5.39 assists per set. Junior Katie Parnell leads the league in total blocks with 106 this season (3 solo, 103 assisted).
- The Eagles will stay on the road with a match at Tusculum Saturday set for 5 p.m.
Notes on LMU
- The Railsplitters will play Tusculum on the road Friday night before taking on UVa-Wise inside the Mary Mars Gymnasium Saturday afternoon. LMU currently sits at 5-11 in the SAC, 6-17 overall, and are seventh in the conference standings as the Railsplitters will look to snap a four-match losing streak this weekend.
- Head coach Jenny Michael's team is led in kills this season by senior Lindsey Narker with her 209 kills ranking her 11th in the SAC. Nartker's 29 service aces this year also mark a team-best for the Railsplitters.
- Junior Sarah Jones leads LMU with 395 digs so far this year to rank her third in the league. Sophomore Emily Walter and Nartker follow with 212 digs apiece. Junior Yileen Ng He posts a team-high 63 total blocks for the Railsplitters while senior Rylee Storms is close behind with 61 total blocks this year.
- Walter has accumulated 751 assists for LMU this campaign, ranking her second in the league in the category while her 8.44 assists per set rank fourth in the league.
- Coach Michael's squad will stay home for matches next weekend against Lenoir-Rhyne and Mars Hill before wrapping up the regular season on the road.
