CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Men's cross country competed Friday evening in the Royals XC Challenge hosted by Queens University of Charlotte. Head coach Sarah Smith Carlson's team registered a 54th-place finish among a challenging field including eight total South Atlantic Conference teams.
Freshman Austin Yeary finished first for the Cavs marking a time of 28:36 in the 8K race followed by senior Tanner Redinger who posted a time of 29:19. Freshman Peyton Salyer completed the race with a time of 31:29.
Junior Ryan Frederick registered a time of 31:57 while freshman Thomas Salyer listed a time of 33:31. Senior Ciaran Wheatley wrapped up the race for the Cavs with a time of 39:16 at McAlpine Creek Park.
Coach Carlson's team will conclude their season in two weeks at the South Atlantic Conference Championship race on Saturday, Oct. 26 hosted by Wingate University.
