Box Score WISE - - Men's tennis fell in a 6-1 decision against Roanoke College Sunday afternoon. Coleton Burke secured a win at the No. 1 singles position with a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Roanoke's Grayson White.
At the number one doubles position Burke and Luke Jarnigan fell to Roanoke's White and Riley Feher, 6-1. Dominic Hoffman and John Hamilton were outlasted at the No. 2 spot to Roanoke's Jack Dorris and Jack Fishwick, 6-0 followed by a default win for the Maroons at the number three spot.
Burke picked up a win against White at the number one singles spot while Hoffman dropped his match to Fishwick, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 2. Jarnigan fell to Feher at the number three spot, 7-5, 6-0, while Hamilton was outlasted in a close match by Dorriss at No. 4, 6-4, 6-4. Daniel Laughlin fell to Roanoke's Thomas Hodges at No. 5, 6-4, 6-0, before the Maroons picked up another win at the No. 6 spot.
Men's tennis will return to action with a home match against Anderson University on Oct. 20. First serve is scheduled for 11 a.m. at the Jim and Betty Humphreys Tennis Complex.
