MARS HILL, N.C. -  - Men's tennis fell, 7-0, to the Lions of Mars Hill University Saturday afternoon.

Sophomore Coleton Burke and freshman Luke Jarnagin opened up at the No. 1 spot in doubles for the Cavaliers (0-2) with a 6-1 loss to Mars Hill's Ben Reid and Rod Ramos. At the number two spot, Freshman Dominic Hoffman and junior John Hamilton fell 6-0 to the Lions' Fernando Neto and Kyrel Trim while Mars Hill won the No. 3 spot by default for a 1-0 lead heading into singles play.

At the No. 1 singles position, Burke fell 6-0, 6-0 to Reid while Hoffman was outlasted at the number two spot, 6-1, 6-0, by the Lions' Ramos. Jarnagin dropped his match against Mars Hill's Neto, 6-0, 6-0, while Hamilton was upset at the No. 4 spot, 6-0, 6-0, to the Lions' Pedro Pinassi. Daniel Laughlin suffered a 6-3, 6-2 setback at the number five spot before the Lions won by default at the number six position.

UVa-Wise will return to action with an 11 a.m. matchup against Anderson University (S.C) on Oct. 20 on the road.
