FAIRMONT, W. Va. - - Men's tennis was routed by Fairmont State University, 9-0, Saturday afternoon.

The Cavaliers' (2-9, 0-3 MEC) Andrii Rutnytskyi and Ethan Herron had a strong showing at No. 1 doubles against Guillherme Pachane and Lucas Alves of Fairmont State as the Cavalier duo fell, 8-5.  At No. 2, Viktor Tunnikov and Chris Armistead dropped their match, 8-2, while Coleton Burke and John Hamilton were swept, 8-0, at the number three doubles spot.

Rutnytskyi was defeated, 6-4, 6-0, at the No. 1 singles position while Tunnikov was swept by Fairmont's Pachane at the number two spot, 6-0, 6-0. Armistead fell, 6-3, 6-2, at No. 3 while Herron was routed by the Fighting Falcons' Dillon Early at the number four spot, 6-3, 6-1.  Burke and Hamilton were swept, 6-0, 6-0, at the No. 5 and No. 6 position, respectively.

Men's tennis will face Shepherd University on the road tomorrow at 10 a.m.
