SHEPHERDSTOWN, W.Va. - - UVa-Wise fell in straight sets to Shepherd University on Saturday, 3-0 (25-11, 25-19, 25-11). The Cavaliers (5-18, 1-8) registered an attack percentage of .040 alongside 22 kills and 22 assists in the match.
The Cavs posted 63 digs and three team blocks while Shepherd (17-5, 6-3) recorded 36 kills, 31 assists, and a .239 attack percentage. Junior Ciara Kain led the Cavaliers in kills with 10 and posted six digs. Sophomore Morgan Milligan registered a double-double with 20 assists and 15 digs. Sophomore Briana Kerr tallied 19 digs while junior Kyra Jessee added 14 digs for the Cavs.
Shepherd's Amanda Snowden collected 11 kills and a .474 attack percentage in the match. The Rams' Cambriea Hill narrowly missed a double-double with nine kills and 10 digs. Shepherd's Jessica Karcz added 15 digs while Imani Major posted 13 digs in the Rams win.
Cavalier volleyball will be back on the road next weekend to face West Virginia Wesleyan on Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. The Cavs will visit Glenville State the next day with first serve scheduled for 1 p.m.
