WISE, Va. – UVa-Wise men's basketball continues its four-game road trip to begin 2016 with a visit to the Grimes Center on the campus of Urbana University Sunday for a 4 p.m. game.

Storylines – vs. Urbana UniversityThe Cavaliers will look to get their first Mountain East Conference win of the season Sunday afternoon when they take to the floor against the host Blue Knights. Likewise, Urbana will be seeking its first conference win of the season.

UVa-Wise is 2-2 against Urbana since becoming a NCAA Division II member and joining the MEC. The Cavs swept the Blue Knights during the 2013-14 season, grabbing a 76-48 home win in both team's inaugural MEC contest before taking a 77-65 victory in Urbana. Last year the Blue Knights got the better of the Cavs, defeating UVa-Wise 103-68 in Ohio and 76-64 in Wise.

Urbana's lone win of the season came at home against Salem International (87-70). The Blue Knights have suffered MEC losses at Wheeling Jesuit (87-76), against No. 1 West Liberty (133-95), versus the University of Charleston (91-89), against West Virginia State (99-92), at West Virginia Wesleyan (77-59) and at Glenville State (87-80). Rob Summers is in his second year at the helm of Urbana men's basketball after guiding the Blue Knights to a 6-23 overall record in his first season. Urbana is led by freshman power forward Jahmere Howze (17.7 ppg) and sophomore guard Carlas Jackson (16.5 ppg), Howze also leads the team in rebounding with 6.2 per game.

About UVa-WiseUVa-Wise enters Monday's game coming off of a tough, hard-fought loss at Shepherd University Wednesday. Despite sharp shooting from distance that included going 17-for-37 (45.9 percent) from three-point range, the Cavs were not able to maintain an 11-point second-half lead and fell 99-94 on the road. The 17 made three-pointers tied the most makes from beyond the arc by one team in single game inside Shepherd's Butcher Center, and was one shy of UVa-Wise's record 18 set two and a half weeks ago against King University.

Senior forward
Matt Day had a career game and one of the best ever by a Cav, registering a career-high in points (35), field goals made (12) and three-pointers (8-for-11) on his way to collecting a team-high eight rebounds. With his standout performance, the Buckhorn, Kentucky (Buckhorn H.S.), native moved into the top 15 on UVa-Wise's all-time scoring list with 1,213 career points. Transfer junior forward
Gervelle Kidd (Martinsville, Va.) posted a career-high 14 points in the loss, going 5-for-6 from the field and making four out of five three-point attempts.

The Cavs enter tomorrow's game averaging 9.7 three-pointers a game, fifth-best in the league.

Following Sunday's game the Cavs will finish their four-game road trip by staying in the Buckeye State and visiting Notre Dame College for a 7:30 p.m. contest Tuesday.
