WISE - - Coach Kristen Salyer added to her 2015 recruiting class on Tuesday when she announced the signing of James Madison High School's Chandler Rouse. Rouse spent the last two seasons on the varsity team at James Madison where she aided the school to a combined 62-4 record, including back-to-back Liberty Conference titles.
Individually, the setter was an honorable mention all-conference selection as a senior while also being selected to the Fairfax High School Rebel Invitational All-Tournament Team.
The future Cavalier also excelled for Vienna Elite Club Volleyball where the team competed at the USAV Junior National Championships while posting an undefeated mark in CHRVA Tournaments. Rouse has served as team captain for the last four seasons while playing for Vienna Elite.
Rouse was also recruited by Frostburg State, Arcadia, Daemen College and Francis Marion University.
She is the daughter of Douglas and Elizabeth Rouse of Vienna, Virginia and plans to pursue a degree in psychology once reaching campus this fall.
UVa-Wise will open the 2015 season on Sept. 4 when the team plays Slippery Rock and Johnson C. Smith as part of a season opening invitational in Misenheimer, North Carolina.
