WHEELING, W.Va. - - Jaila Bryant finished the game 10-13 from the field en route to a game-high 22 points as Wheeling Jesuit scored an 85-56 Mountain East Conference victory at the McDonough Center.  Bryant's strong shooting performance bolstered a 63.6 shooting performance for the victorious Cardinals that included a 10-16 showing from beyond the 3-point line.

Wheeling Jesuit (12-7, 9-6) led by as many as 32 points late in the game as Debbie Buff's team limited the visitors to 9-31 shooting in the final 20 minutes.  In addition to superb shooting and solid defensive work, the Cardinals also enjoyed an advantage on the boards, out-rebounding the Cavaliers 39-22.

UVa-Wise (8-14, 7-9) was able to stay within 12 points in the first half as Blair Harding, 12 and Taylor Sandidge eight combined to score 20 points in the period.  Wheeling Jesuit hit five of its 10 3-pointers as Breanna Bulter was a perfect 3-3 from distance in the first 20 minutes.

The Cavs would cut the deficit to eight points with 18:35 to play but it would be as close as Kristin Kunzman's squad would get as the Cardinals responded with a 14-2 run to build the lead to 20 points.

Butler finished a perfect 6-6 from the field, including 4-4 from the 3-point line to score 17 points.  Lydia Hyburg was also perfect from the field as she made all six of her field goal attempts to score 13 points.  Bryant added seven assists to her game-high 22 points.

Harding scored a team-high 20 points while Sandidge added 11 in the loss.  The defeat snapped a two-game winning streak for UVa-Wise.
