Storylines –Concord GameA home game in next week's Mountain East Conference Tournament is on the line Saturday when Concord visits the Prior Center. The Mountain Lions sit one game behind the Cavaliers for eighth place in the standings and have already posted a 57-40 win over coach
Kristin Kunzman's team earlier this season. Thus, the winner of the game will be the final team to host in the conference tournament. Regardless of the outcome, the two teams will meet each other on Tuesday in the opening round. Concord has been led by a quartet of players, including Jacqueline Kestner who is averaging a team-high 12.4 points per game. Kestner was one point shy of a double-double in the first meeting between the teams as she tallied nine points and 11 rebounds. Concord out-rebounded UVa-Wise 51-34 in that contest.
About UVa-WiseSaturday will mark the final regular season game in the career of
Katie Jo Dockery. Dockery will be honored along with the lone senior on the men's team, Tyler Maggard in between the two games. Dockery has started in each game over the last two seasons and has mae 144 3-pointers in her four-year career. The Oakwood, Virginia native has been near perfect from the free throw line as a senior. Entering Saturday she has missed just five foul shots and is shooting 86.1 percent from the charity stripe. Dockery is an education major with a concentration in mathematics, upon graduation this May she plans to continue to stay involved with the game of basketball.
