WISE, Va. – The UVa-Wise women's volleyball team travels to West Liberty Friday night for their first Mountain East Conference match away from home, first serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.

The Cavaliers (6-7, 2-0 MEC) are coming off of a 3-0 road defeat at the hands of Virginia State Tuesday night. After riding a three-match win streak and going undefeated in the first homestand of the season, Tuesday night's loss makes it six losses in a row in matches played away from home for the Cavs.

Friday night's matchup will be the Hilltoppers (9-8, 2-0 MEC) second match in two days as West Liberty faces seventh-ranked Wheeling Jesuit on the road tonight before hosting the Cavs.

Heading into tonight's match against No. 7 Wheeling Jesuit, West Liberty is on a six-match win streak and has already defeated Urbana University (3-1) and Notre Dame College (3-2) in league play at home.

The Cavs and the Hilltoppers have played common opponents Shippensburg, Slippery Rock and Salem International this season. UVa-Wise lost twice to Slippery Rock this year (3-1 and 3-2) at neutral sites, while West Liberty came up short (3-2) at home against the Rock. The Cavs were swept by Shippensburg at a neutral site as the Hilltoppers lost 3-1 to Shippensburg at home. UVa-Wise shutout Salem International at a neutral site while West Liberty swept Salem International on the road.

Junior outside hitter
Karley Allen will attempt to record her 1,000th career kill Friday. The Lanexa, Virginia (New Kent H.S.), native is only 11 kills away from becoming just the fourth Cav to reach the 1,000 kill mark in her career.

The Cavs are hitting .201 on the season and averaging 12.2 kills per set to go along with 11.5 assists per set. UVa-Wise is holding opponents to an attack percentage of .176 so far this year with 11.7 kills per set and 11.1 assists per set. UVa-Wise has made 739 digs this season (15.4 per set) while opponents have tallied 719 digs (15 per set).

Allen has collected 209 kills this season (4.35 per set) to lead the Cavs and owns a team-high 172 digs (3.58 per set).

Ciara Kain has recorded the second-most kills behind Allen this season with 99 (2.48 per set), while junior middle blocker
Lindsey Tucker leads the Cavs in attack percentage at .269 with 96 kills.

Chandler Rouse is having an outstanding start to her collegiate career as she has made 387 assists in nine match starts (9.92 per set). Junior libero
Erin Lee is averaging 3.25 digs per set this season, having tallied a total of 156.
